Celebration -Diwali

This term our topic is focused around ‘Celebrations’. We are going to be learning about different cultures and how they celebrate their festivals during this term.

This week we have been focusing on Diwali. Diwali is also known as the ‘festival of light’ used to welcome in the new year for Hindus. It lasts around five days and it is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and some Muslims. We have been involved in many exciting activities to reflect Diwali from making diva lamp using cd’s and jewels, designing our own Rangoli patterns and exploring the key points in the story of Rama and Sita.

Miss George reading us the story of Rama and Sita.
